Peplum top with a bustier empire cut

Hello everyone. This introduction to this blog is going to reveal the steps i took to make each outfit.
For this first post, I made this peplum top for a customer. It had a bustier in the upper half cut (empire)

It's a pity I didn't snap the step before I cut the bustier to get this. But this is the result. The wine red part is the lining . it shows how I folded to get the second fabric in the pic.
I measured the bust apart (nipple to nipple)and used it to get the horizontal line.

To get the length of the bustier I took the underbust length and subtracted 7 inches from the top.
Then used the bust point measurement to get a line  which is not visible in this pic.
Those gaps at the top and bottom of the lining are 2 " for up and 2" for below.

 This is the back
Both lining and fabric.
This is the peplum. It's a 2 step peplum so I cut one 10 inches and the second 8 inches. The important thing to note is the peplum wehn added to the upper part of the blouse gives the desired blouse length.
There 2 pieces of cloths in this picture. The fist is what i inspected into the bustier to get the full front and the second is the band from under the bust to which the peplum will be attached

This is the final result. One happy looking customer.

Happy new year !!!

Happy new year to everyone one who passes here to read my posts . yeah today is 14th of January so I'd say I'm 14 days late. But better late than never right?
I had a pretty amazing 2015. Yes I did! I'd say I began the journey to finding myself in 2015. At the beginning of the year God cleared up all the bad strings pulling me down, gave me wisdom, direction , focus and courage to find my passion. It wasnt all rosy at the beginning cos I had bills and needed a bit of capital to re establish a business I started but hadn't put in as much effort as I should have . I didn't want to solicit for any form of loan or help. My reason being I didn't want to have a safety net. I had that the previous time and it didn't work out at all. And so I began by getting one staff and also decided to brush my skill so I could provide a service that will encourage customers to revisit and bring their friends and family as well. I obtained experiences from several people whom I admired their work.
My secret weapon and companion was prayers and total trust in the fact that i had God backing all my efforts. It wasn't by my power or might but my his spirit. I didn't depend on the fact that I didn't have customers some days and weeks on end. Just like Sarah didn't consider the deadness of her womb. I trusted him. I made up my mind not to fail. No one works hard and stays the same.
By the middle of the year i had settled up all bills. Had so much work on my hands that would make me work till late at nights.
By the end of the year I employed a second staff and had 2 apprentices.
It's just being getting better by the day. Ive learnt to lay my worries on God because he does care. Both in our service providing, growth as a brand and in my faith.
Its all because of God. Anyone who doubts his existence is blinded by an illusion. I can't wait to see the blessings of 2016. My year of spreading.
It will only get better. The word of God works! I chose to be happy! And to be happy i have to do all I can and then some to achieve it.
