MY SUNDAY WEAR .MAY 1ST

Hello guys,as promised i'm here with the post of the week.
On Saturday I was opportuned to get this really lovely earthy fabric. I call it 'earthy fabric' because the design on it are pictures of leaves, logs of wood and the color was a dull green. I was in love with it. So while working at home on a project I'm planning to take on in a bit,I kept brainstorming what style to make that would really showcase the fabric designs really well and I knew a kaftan was the best bet. I had another plain crepe fabric somewhere in my stash of fabrics that matched it .
I had seen this style on social media several times. I'm sure most of you have so I edited my version a bit with a patterned and plain fabric. Then the sleeves had a turn up with the patterned fabric. Below are some of the pictures I took . Hope you like it cos I did. X.O.X.O

LILYS REQUEST!

Hello everyone
It's been a while i made a post. I keep promising to make more frequent posts but ... It doesn't seem to happen.
I want to try to make it a post a week. I hope I can do that.
Anyway, this post was inspired by Lily. My 5year old daughter. She requested for a dress with a jacket and I was excited to do this for her.
Most times when I sew ,it's because my interest was sparked with curiosity on making a particular vision I've created in my head about a finished work and i become moved by my ideas I would like to see manifest.

For her dress i used black cotton fabric and Ghana fabric called Kente.
Unfortunately,i didn't document the process but it's an easy dress.
When I was done with the dress and was fitting it on Lily she was like mommy it's nice but I want a dress and a jacket. I had to reassure her the jacket was next.
When i finished the jacket ,it looked too plane so I decided to make a flower using colorful stones. She loved her dress. I also did. Here are a few pictures I took after church.
